No surprises there, right? So, now the question is what now? Are you saying we shouldn’t celebrate Holi? Or should we celebrate Holi without color or something? No, because who doesn't want to blend in with the vibrant Holi colors? So we are encouraging you to protect your skin during Holi with natural Holi skincare…

Welcome the colors of Holi with Ayurvedic care

In Ayurvedic study, beauty comes by balancing, like aligning your body’s “Vata, Pitta, Kapha” with nature's gift to protect your skin. You can enjoy this 2000-year-old festival of love and Holi colors without compromising your wellness by following We Herbal skincare…

Pre-Holi Prep: Shield Your Skin and Hair with Ayurveda’s Wisdom for Holi

In the wisdom of Ayurveda, preparation is key. So, to prepare for Holi, we will build a shield for your skin by maintaining “Dosha Harmony.” Vata loves moisture, Pitta craves cooling, and Kapha needs balance. So start your pre-Holi prep ritual with a question: What does your skin crave today? Take a moment to assess; is it dry patches or sensitivity? This self-awareness taps into your inner healer, a psychological trick to make you feel empowered.

The Natural Way of Cleansing

Let’s start with face cleansing. Begin by pouring a small amount of cleansing milk (which can be simply made by mixing ingredients like milk, honey, and natural oils) into a cotton pad and applying it across your face and neck. After that start massaging your face and neck gently in a circular motion with your hands. This helps stimulate blood flow while ensuring that all dirt, oil, and makeup are removed from your skin. Now let the cleanser sit for a few seconds to dissolve impurities and nourish the skin. Once you're done massaging, rinse your face thoroughly with lukewarm water until all traces of the cleanser are gone. You can also use a damp cloth or cotton pad to wipe away the cleanser gently.

The Natural Way of Toning

Now that your face is clean, let's begin the process of toning with “Neem” and “Rosewater toner.” (You can make it by Mixing 1 tbsp of neem powder with ½ cup of rose water, Remove any residue by Stirring and strain it.) Now you can either Spray or apply using a cotton pad.

The natural way of Moisturizing

Then, massage your skin from head to toe with a mixer of coconut, almond, castor, and sesame oil infused with sandalwood. This not only hydrates but also creates a natural Holi skincare barrier, a tip passed down by our grandparents.

During Holi: Dance with Colors, Protect with Nature

Ayurveda suggests staying connected to nature, and “We Herbal” bring this to life with simple, effective hacks.

After following the Pre-Holi-Steps you have your shield ready to enjoy Holi, but you know you can further enhance the shield you are wearing by practicing our historical tradition while enjoying it. Which is something as simple as shifting away from Synthetic Colors to using Naturally made Colors, which resurfaced to trending nowadays. You can either buy these colors or you can also make them at home by simply grinding and mixing ingredients like “Marigolds, Hibiscus, spinach, and beetroot” to make natural colors with different Hues. Or just play around throwing Turmeric powder;)

What after enjoying Holi? Yeah, for that we have…

Post-Holi Recovery: Restore Your Glow with Ayurvedic Love

Post-Holi recovery is where Ayurveda shines. Now that you are fully bathed with colours we'll start from removing it. Starting from the hair, followed by the face, then finish it up with the body.

Hair

First, shake your head to dust off excess color then rinse your head with plain water. Then use a mix of fresh aloe vera gel with coconut oil and give a gentle massage before leaving it for 30 minutes, which helps remove colour while also soothing your scalps. Then Rinse thoroughly using a mild “Sulfate-free” shampoo and follow up with a deep conditioner or hair serum.

Face

Start with rinsing your face with plain lukewarm water “NO Soap.”

Then apply a Milk & Besan Cleanser “which you can make by mixing 2 tbsp of Besan with Raw Milk to form a paste.” After applying, let it dry slightly, then gently rub off before rinsing again. Besan exfoliates, while milk removes stains gently.

Body

Now that you are done with hair and face let's move on to body.

First of all, Avoid Hot Showers. I know how much you feel like wanting to have a Hot shower after tiring yourself playing, but taking that hot shower will cause color to penetrate deeper. instead, rinse with cold water and use a soft loofah to scrub gently.

Now it's time to apply a natural exfoliator which you can make by simply mixing 2 tbsp Besan with 2 tbsp Curd.

After applying, give yourself a gentle body massage then leave it for 5 - 10 minutes before rinsing. Now pat your skin dry. Rushing this step risks irritation. Your brain carves closure after a big day, and this ritual delivers.

With some aloe vera gel to soothe sunburn or sensitivity, it works as a cooling balm for pitta imbalance. Massage it in circular motions to melt away the buildup of stress as Kapha finds its calm.

After, Nourish with a hydrating moisturizer infused with licorice and honey. This locks in moisture and brightens you up, turning recovery into a reward. Want a pro tip? Add a drop of sandalwood oil to your palms and inhale deeply before applying–it’s a psychological reset, it will be like liking scent to serenity.
